Wanna hear something oddly refreshing? Let’s clash the disparate worlds of videogames and Weezer and see what happens. A collection of 8-bit music artists have collaborated together (under the name of Pterodactyl Squad) to bring this intriguing collection of Weezer hits (not enough from Pinkerton in my opinion). If Nintendo had used licensed songs in their early 8-bit as they do in current generation games, this is exactly what their interpretation of Weezer would sound like. I feel like I’m playing an awesome Mega Man game once again. The songs are 100% bit-synth, with a couple that include some vocals that leave a lot to be desired. Sans the vocals, these tunes are something that could be easily remixable into a bangin’ electro tune, but I’ll leave that to the pros to play with. This interpretation… is interesting to say the least.
