When summer comes around, there are always lulls in the day, where I just bum around doing nothing but watch TV, check my blogs, and listen to music all day. And underneath the California sun, I can’t help but soak into the upbeat chill tunes of indie rock and pop. It’s like these rays drown me into a euphoric stupor that make these catchy tunes so much better.

Now that I have the time to sit on my ass and enjoy the variety of many subgenres of indie rock, I’ve fallen back in love with it (but that’s not to say my love for electro will ever die). I’m still looking for my general theme song of the summer. Last year, it was m83’s Graveyard Girl, but I’ve yet to find anything remotely as beautiful as that song. But day after day, I grow a little closer to discovering a gem like that. Right now, I’m enveloping myself with the sounds of Plushgun, The Temper Trap, and We Were Promised Jetpacks.

We Were Promised Jetpacks - Quiet Little Voices.mp3
Plushgun - Let Me Kiss You Now (And I’ll Fade Away).mp3 (This song is super cute)
